We live in a small apartment, with modest needs for things... but we're looking to move soon.

Kiva is a microloan institution that we want to offer as an alternative.  Kiva gives small loans to small businesses around the world; if you give a gift certificate to us as a gift, we can choose a business to sponsor.  At the end of that loan, the money comes back to us, and the interest supports Kiva.  It's like giving us a monetary gift, but your gift can do good in the world while it waits for us to establish our home.
