When we missed our flight to Guilin in the middle of the trip we earned ourselves an extra day in Shanghai, which we used to visit the Yu Yuan Gardens, a classic "Chinese Garden" dating from the 17th century. This picture was just inside the gate, taken across a pond toward the "big rockery".
