Several days walking. Some going back and forth with Changing Ways changing on us. Studying our new library in the evenings suggests we can recharge the fuel packs by building a certain gizmo and applying lightning through it; also looks like there's a way to fix variable gates. Passing into realm of Kyaliad. Lots of overlarge steps - giants maybe, feh.Bit of a debate upon finding a big cave mouth apparently leading out into a sunny mountainside - totally wrong season of course. Korenn figured it for "Bi-world" or something - was another mountain sort of floating upside down in the sky opposite. Nice design, but very much not this earth. Was reminded that though these humans are good fighters they're not civilized people when Dizyk responded to my attempt to explain dwarven injunction on planar travel by speaking disrespectfully of my mother, may her spirit strengthen us. My father would have killed him; I merely burst small blood vessel in left eye before Korenn recalled me to myself.

Next day fought annoying flaming bats (too charred to eat, plus they relight unless you kill them with cold, which would make for some bad indigestion), and two days after that made it to darramorc village with stable portal to Guardian city. Went through (locking gate behind us, even) and got to city, which is fantastic. Colossal column of stone spanning city-sized cavern, encrusted with giant clockwork. Even some whole parts of column turning. Spidery bridges and intricate machinery everywhere. Connection to mechanical plane somewhere in there, Korenn says. Cool. Restful night and then spoke with The Great Cog, who speaks for them.
