Unity is the root of fighting because a division is a crack that can break you. Got closer to welding closed the crack between me and my family. Found uncle Mangan (and some cousin Jasper) in the dwarven market and talked to him about what I've been doing and why. That I'm doing some of the unfinished work of the Silver Clan and remember those days and stuff. And about the dragons and lich etc of course.
[Click on image for larger version. It's worth it.]Also, have finally remembered what seemed familiar about my enemy - she could have twinned from my infamous non-ancestor Rhodocros, She Who Didn't Have Kids And So Everything Went To Rot, See The Point? Been trying to remember more of those stories, must have heard them enough. Whether it's really her or something imitating her, would have some idea what to be ready for.
Am now owner of magicked-up flying axe - nice heavy bronze, some real nice alloy on the rim to hold the edge. Had to part with some of my sparklies. Necessity very hard path sometimes. Also sold one of the stones from the Black Flame - spelled for glitter-dust, but there was something funny in the magic so figure it was cursed. And turns out that weird prism from the Garhad hoard is a magic "iyoon" stone that'll float around your head and help deflect attacks. Letting Parna use it for now so long as he remembers it's just a loan.
Necessity has us back on the road again with Bar Khadan braced for attack behind us. First night there saw some of their defense system - huge golems moving into place. Quite some work, those! Second night Korin spotted Emsariel's mark on a dwarf in our tavern - Parna and Matsuko (who now has a sort of foggy snake) followed. Was spy-reporting to a watching-magic thing. We went and told the watch and went before the council of Longbeards next day to tell them what we knew about Emsariel. Turns out the spies were undead puppet-things. Ugh. Council asked us to stay and help fight or explore caverns under city that Emsariel's trying to reach. Wanted to do *something*... but our part is to enter Nothoreadel before he can get there. So will push on.
Fought Shadows that first night leaving - one with wings. Very disquieting.
