So there we are, the tentacles are thrashing, I'm being attacked by a burning sponge, and we're not getting any closer to either Killgarn or Merdecin. Magic rocks didn't seem to be working so hot so I slung a normal bullet through the portcullis and bruised Killgarn a little, then got out of the way. Barg let go a pretty nice arrow shot and then Ideh - well, he says he tried to convince the wind kami to do something he didn't really have the power to control yet, or something. This giant gust of wind picks up all sorts of dust and grit and just shreds through the tentacles, goes right through the portcullis (being wind and all) and slams into Killgarn. I think he got cut up pretty bad - he looked kind of *raw* - at which point he turned tail and ran. Ideh got caught in the gust though and was knocked down, and the tentacle that had Wind threw him over the edge or something, but Barg and I were lifting the portcullis so I could chase Killgarn. Didn't catch him though; he went down one of the guard holes by the front gate (which was on the wrong side - keep got all turned around somehow) and I followed but he had gotten away. Ideh was okay but we looked down and couldn't even see Wind.We started trying to get up to Merdecin's room. Went up a ladder sticking out of a well - stupid dreaming - and ended up on a little floating island of floor in the fog. We could see across to the third floor but couldn't feel a path. Double stupid dreaming. I got sick of having my head messed with when I knew there was really the parapet there and tried to just walk on it, but fell through and ended up in the basement. Stupid dreaming, although at least it didn't hurt. I had to go up a lot on this tree stair but eventually got back to the second floor - heard some belsammog saying that Ideh had the flackery, or something, and they should go after him, so I wanted to warn them - I ended up on the other "island" in the fog just as Barg and Ideh were going back down, so I told them to stay there and went back across the second floor to them. Got stabbed by a belsammog going up the ladder and then we ended up having to fight our way back down again. Thwacked one nicely in the head with one of those magic rocks (which were working again) while it was trying to come up, and I think Barg got the other one. Little bastards really aren't there in the dark.
Finally we got over to where Merdecin's room was, only it was a long dark hall instead of a room, and there was this thing in it that got all glowing and tentacle-y when I got close with the vial. Barg hacked at it with his axe until it didn't glow anymore, and then ended up having to break through the wall with his axe, which just figures - all this dreaming to turn things around, but the wall was still there too. Merdecin was trying to say this wasn't the right place, but we knew it was from Barg's map and all. We had to walk through the corridor for a really long time, down and up and turns that could not have actually been there, but we just kept going and eventually got to the amphitheater. I went down into the circle of trees with all the light in it, because Merdecin would have the hardest time messing with my head, and if he was going to try to kill someone I figured he'd have a harder time getting me. I gave him the vial and I could tell he got free, and then he healed me, or the light did, which was really nice and made me figure he probably wasn't going to kill people after all.
When the light faded it was unseeable for awhile, which I really didn't like, and then we were standing back in the sealed room where we thought we were only Merdecin's body was gone. As were all the belsammog rocks, when we looked. Looked around for Wind but couldn't find him.
Think the keep is basically liveable at this point, though will be good to take care of the well beast and armor trap before someone forgets and walks a little too close or goes through that door. Much in need of repairs, of course, but pretty much emptied of things trying to kill us. Tried throwing this curse-card down the well but of course it showed up again.
